Applications Open for Community Relations

Want to be part of a professional Community Relations Officer Team?

Have you been in SecondLife for more than 12 Months?Community Relations Officer Graphic

Can you deal with high pressure situations?

Can you make a sound judgement call and be accountable for the decisions you make?

Have you successfully worked in a Security/Moderator role within the last two years?

If you answered YES to all of the above, then I want to invite you to be part of a special team for a one day event.

On February 14, 2013, for 24 hours starting at midnight Pacific Standard Time, Second Life residents will join with activists around the world in a spectacular 24-hour dance event for ONE BILLION RISING, the largest day of action in the history of V-Day, the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls.

If you have already volunteered for another role for this event, then I don’t want you. Reasons being:
A CRO role can be extremely difficult if the wheels fall off and we have trouble at this event.
Wearing too many hats means you cant fully commit to the CRO role.

If you have NEVER done this role before and want to break into this area, I will consider your application, however – you won’t have full powers as a CRO. Given this is a one day event, you will team up with an experienced CRO and learn with them.

What does the role entail:
Provide a professional service to the OBR venue. Monitor and moderate the general group for chat which is called “One Billion Rising”. Respond and deal with any issues that arise during the event – in a friendly manner. Any other issues that may arise where our special skills are needed.

So how do you apply:
Drop a notecard on Rails Bailey, (don’t forget to add your name to the NC), and briefly list your experience.

Will there be training:
Yes there will.

Looking forward to your interest
Rails Bailey
